Chapter 10. LIQUOR CONTROL |
Article II. PROHIBITIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
§ 10-63. Exceptions.
(a)
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to:
(1)
Alcohol used in the manufacture of denatured alcohol produced in accordance with Acts of Congress and regulations promulgated thereunder;
(2)
Flavoring extracts and syrups and food products;
(3)
Patent and proprietary medicines, medicinal, antiseptic, culinary and toilet preparations;
(4)
Scientific, industrial and chemical products;
(5)
Scientific, chemical, experimental or mechanical purposes;
(6)
Any liquid or solid containing one-half of one percent, or less, of alcohol by volume.
(b)
Nothing contained in this chapter shall prohibit any duly licensed practicing physician or dentist from possessing or using alcoholic liquor in the strict practice of his profession, or hospitals or other institutions caring for sick and diseased persons from possessing and using alcoholic liquor for the treatment of bona fide patients of that hospital or other institution, or drugstores employing a licensed pharmacist from possessing and using alcoholic liquor in the concoction of prescriptions of duly licensed physicians, or the possession and dispensation of wine by the authorized representative of any church for the purpose of conducting any bona fide rite or religious ceremony conducted by that church.
