§ 14-180. Obstructing fire station driveways.

  • (a)

    The Village Engineer is authorized to install such signs or pavement markings as the Village Engineer may find necessary and appropriate to designate the portion of a street adjoining a village fire station driveway that is to be kept clear of stopped, standing or parked vehicles in order to permit the unobstructed exit of emergency vehicles from said fire station driveway.

    (b)

    It is unlawful for any person operating a vehicle to stop, stand or park said vehicle anywhere in the portion of a street adjoining a fire station driveway that has been signed or marked as provided in subsection (a) of this section, or to in any other manner, obstruct or block such fire station driveway. This shall include stopping a vehicle in such a marked area while waiting at a traffic signal or railroad crossing signal.

    (c)

    The minimum fine for a violation of this subsection (b) of this section is $100.00.
