§ 14-238. Walking along or standing on roadways.

  • (a)

    Where sidewalks are provided, it is unlawful for any pedestrian, including jogger or runner, to walk, jog, or run along and upon an adjacent roadway.

    (b)

    Where sidewalks are not provided, any pedestrian, jogger, or runner walking, jogging, or running along and upon a street shall, when practicable, walk, jog, or run only on the left side of the roadway or its shoulder facing traffic which may approach from the opposite direction.

    (c)

    No person shall stand upon any sidewalk except as near as is reasonably possible to the curb line, if standing interferes with the use of the sidewalk by other pedestrians.
