§ 14-558. Special restrictions on lamps.

  • (a)

    No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any street or highway with any lamp or device thereon displaying a red light visible from directly in front thereof.

    (b)

    Flashing lights are prohibited on motor vehicles, except as a means for indicating a right or left turn or stop or hazard.

    (c)

    The provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles or to vehicles designated for towing or hoisting disabled vehicles while actually being used for such purposes, or the motor vehicles or equipment of contractors while engaged in maintenance or construction operations within the limits of construction projects. However, only police or fire vehicles shall be equipped with red, blue or white flashing lights. All other vehicles, such as towing trucks, shall be equipped with a yellow light.
