§ 1-34. Fine for returned checks.

Whenever payment is made to the village for any fee, fine, bill, service, penalty or tax, by way of personal or business check, and said check is returned for any reason, including, but not limited to, non-sufficient funds, stop payment or account closed, the maker of said check shall be charged a transaction fee of $25.00 or ten percent of the amount of the returned check, whichever is greater, for each check so returned.
