§ 20-104. Scaffolds over streets.
(a)
It is unlawful for any person to place any scaffold or ladder without obtaining a permit therefor, and in such a position that it overhangs or can fall onto any public way in the village unless the scaffold or ladder is firmly and properly constructed and safeguarded. It is unlawful for any person to place or leave any tools or articles on any such scaffold or ladder in such a manner that they can fall from a height greater than four feet onto a public way.
(b)
Application for permit shall be made to the Director of Engineering and Public Works as provided in section 20-2, and shall state the intended location of the scaffold. Applicants are required to submit a certificate of insurance in an amount acceptable to the Village Engineer and shall name the village as an additional insured.
