§ 20-154. Numbering plan and chart.

(a)

All lots, buildings and structures in the village shall be numbered in accordance with the following plan:

All lots and parcels of ground abutting on all east and west streets of the village shall be numbered from east to west beginning at the shore of Lake Michigan; and all lots and parcels of ground abutting on all north and south streets shall be numbered from the south to north, beginning at the southern terminus of any and all of those streets. All streets having a northerly or southerly course are deemed north and south streets. One number shall be assigned to every 25 feet, or fraction thereof, of all street frontage, and 100 numbers to each block. The even numbers shall be assigned to the north and east sides of streets and the odd numbers to the opposite sides of those streets.

(b)

The Village Engineer shall keep a chart showing the proper street number of every lot in the village which shall be open to inspection by any person interested.
