Chapter 22. REFUSE, RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE DISPOSAL |
Article VI. YARD WASTE |
§ 22-135. Resident requirements.
The owner or occupant of any unit receiving residential yard waste service shall:
(1)
Place all grass clippings, prunings of small diameter, and green stemmed shrub and plant stalks in biodegradable bags. Each bag must be marked with a village-approved yard waste sticker. Bundles of brush less than four feet in length, containing branches not over three inches in diameter, that are tied with cloth or cotton twine, have a yard waste sticker attached to the twine or an individual branch, and can be easily handled by one person will also be collected. All other disposal containers, such as plastic bags, are prohibited for use in yard waste collection service.
(2)
Place these bags with the yard waste adjacent to the alley, or at the curb if the house does not abut an alley, on the specified collection day.
(3)
Residents have the option of renting an approved 95-gallon toter to be used for the storage and collection of yard waste. The toter must be marked with three yard waste stickers.
(4)
The cost of the yard waste sticker is $2.25 per sticker.
