Chapter 24. REGULATION OF CERTAIN COMMERCIAL AND QUASI-COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES |

§ 24-349. Standards for permit issuance.
(a)
Upon receipt of a completed application for a Solicitor's Permit, the Chief of Police or his designee shall cause an investigation to be made as to the applicant's criminal record, if any, and compliance with all applicable laws and ordinances of the State and the village. Applicants shall cooperate with such investigation and furnish such additional information as may be reasonably requested by the Chief of Police in furtherance of said investigation.
(b)
Within five business days of receiving an application the Chief of Police shall issue a Solicitor's Permit if he determines and finds that:
(1)
The material statements made in the application are true;
(2)
The applicant has not been convicted of a felony under the laws of the State, of any other state, or of the United States within five years of the date of the application;
(3)
The applicant has not had a previously issued Solicitor's Permit revoked by the village or by any other municipality within five years of the date of the application;
(4)
The applicant has not been convicted of violating any provisions of this chapter within five years of the date of application.
(c)
The Police Department shall maintain a record of every application received and acted upon, together with all other information and data pertaining thereto, copies of all Solicitor's Permits issued under the provisions of this article, and a record of all applications denied or revoked pursuant to provisions of this article.
