§ 26-20. Liability of village.
In consideration for the installation and maintenance of the water main system, the village shall not be responsible for claims against the village or any officer or employee on account of interruption of the water supply caused by the breaking or failure of pipe or machinery, or by stoppage for repairs, on account of fire, or other emergency, and no claims shall be allowed for any damages caused by the breaking or other failure of any pipe or equipment. The village will not be responsible for accidents, damages, whether direct or consequential, or injuries to persons or property resulting from improperly maintained or malfunctioning boilers or from variation in the water pressure or the surge of water from the mains, or from collapse of any water fixture due to any cause whatsoever.
