§ 26-44. Application; permit.

  • (a)

    No unauthorized person shall uncover, make any extension to, connection with, or opening into, use, alter, or disturb any portion of the water distribution system of the village or appurtenance thereof without first obtaining a written permit from the Village Engineer. The application for a permit shall be made to the Village Engineer. It shall include:

    (1)

    The name and address of the applicant;

    (2)

    The legal description of the premises to be served by the extension;

    (3)

    The number of acres, excluding streets and alleys contained in the area to be served;

    (4)

    The number of linear feet in the extension;

    (5)

    The proposed location of the extension;

    (6)

    A copy of the completed Illinois EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) construction permit application; and

    (7)

    Such other information as is required by the Village Engineer, and it shall be accompanied by complete plans and specifications of the proposed extension.

    (b)

    The extension shall be constructed at the cost of the owner of the property to be served and shall be of a type and size adequate to meet the needs of the area in which it is located as approved by the Village Engineer. No permit shall be issued until such approval has been given.
