§ 26-257. Construction requirements.
(a)
The size, slope, alignment, materials of construction of a building sewer, and the methods used in excavating, placing of the pipe, jointing, testing, and backfilling the trench, shall all conform to the appropriate specifications of the American Society of Testing Materials, and Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois. Any deviation from the manual procedures for administration of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District sewer permit ordinance must be approved by the Village Engineer.
(b)
Old building sewers may not be used in connection with new buildings, unless otherwise approved by the Village Engineer. The old building sewer shall be abandoned and plugged at the main.
