 Chapter 26. SEWER AND WATER FACILITIES
 Article X. SEWER USER RATE

  § 26-291. Sewer User Rate.

  • (a)

    There shall be and there is hereby established a Sewer User Rate for the use of and for service supplied by the sanitary and combined sewerage system of the village. The Sewer User Rate shall be $3.44 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption, and shall be applied to all users except otherwise exempted in section 26-290. On and after March 1, 2014, the rate under this section shall be $3.84 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption. On and after, March 1, 2015, the rate under this section shall be $4.24 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption.

    (b)

    This rate shall be computed in the following manner:

    (1)

    Estimate the annual operation, maintenance and replacement costs plus debt service costs for all financing and improvements for the sanitary and combined sewerage system;

    (2)

    Estimate annual water usage by users of the sewerage system;

    (3)

    Divide estimated annual costs (subsection (a) of this section) by estimated annual water usage (subsection (b) of this section) to determine rate.

    (c)

    The operation, maintenance and replacement cost portion of the Sewer User Rate shall be $1.07 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption, and the Debt Service Charge of the basic user rate shall be $2.37 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption. On and after March 1, 2014, the operation, maintenance and replacement cost portion of the Sewer User Rate shall be $1.07 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption, and the Debt Service Charge of the basic user rate shall be $2.77 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption. On and after March 1, 2015, the operation, maintenance and replacement cost portion of the Sewer User Rate shall be $1.07 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption, and the Debt Service Charge of the basic user rate shall be $3.17 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption. These are dedicated sources of revenue for these purposes.
