§ 28-166. Adoption of Illinois Cable and Video Customer Protection Law.

  • (a)

    The provisions of the Illinois Cable and Video Customer Protection Law (ILCS ch. 220, act 5, § 22-501 et seq.), and any regulations duly promulgated thereunder, are hereby adopted by reference and made applicable to the cable service or video service providers offering services within the village.

    (b)

    Any amendment to the Illinois Cable and Video Customer Protection Law, or its applicable regulations, that becomes effective after October 1, 2008, shall also, and without further action by the corporate authorities of the village, be incorporated into this article and each of its subsections by reference, and shall be applicable to cable service or video service providers offering services within the village. However, any amendment that makes its provisions optional for adoption by municipalities shall not be deemed incorporated into this article by reference without formal action by the corporate authorities of the village.
