§ 2-41. Resignation; death in office.

In the event of resignation, death or permanent disability of the President, the vacancy created shall be filled for the remainder of the term at the general village election next scheduled under the general election law. During the period from the time the vacancy occurs until a President is elected, as provided in this section, and is qualified, the vacancy may be filled by the election of an acting President by the Board of Trustees, who shall possess all the rights and powers of the President.
