§ 2-126. Standing committees.

  • The standing committees of the Board and the Chairperson of each such committee are appointed by the President with the approval of at least three members of the Board. The committees shall consist of three members and shall be named as listed below with such duties and responsibilities as are set forth.

    (1)

    Administration. This committee shall consider matters relating to personnel policy, transportation, health, and such other matters as may be designated by the President.

    (2)

    Finance. This committee shall consider matters of finance, fiscal policy, appropriations, tax levies and bond issues.

    (3)

    Judiciary. This committee shall review periodically this Code; study and recommend new ordinances and new procedures for ordinance enforcement not within areas assigned to another standing committee or special committee; and serve as liaison between the court system and the village.

    (4)

    Land use. This committee shall consider all matters relating to appearance review, planning, zoning, building and housing, and receive reports from the various other boards and commissions concerned with these subjects.

    (5)

    Municipal services. This committee shall consider all matters relating to streets and public ways; refuse disposal; water, sewers, and other utilities.

    (6)

    Public safety. This committee shall consider all matters relating to the Fire and Police Departments and Fire and Police Commission.
