§ 2-182. Office created; appointment; term.

  • There is hereby created the office of Village Manager, the chief administrative officer of the municipal government. The Village Manager shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees for an indefinite term as provided by statute. He shall be appointed without regard to his political beliefs. The Board of Trustees shall choose the Village Manager solely on the basis of his executive and administrative qualifications with special reference to his actual experience in or his knowledge of accepted practice in respect to the duties of his office as set forth in this Code. He shall establish residence within a 20-mile radius of the village hall within six months after the date of his appointment.
