§ 2-516. Creation; composition.

There is hereby created a Police Department which shall consist of the following personnel:
(1)

Exempt ranks. Exempt ranks shall be composed of the following:

a.

The Police Chief; and

b.

Such number of Deputy Chiefs of Police and Commanders who shall be provided for by the Village President and Board of Trustees in the annual appropriation ordinance.

(2)

Nonexempt ranks. Nonexempt ranks shall be composed of such number of sergeants and police officers as shall be determined by the President and Board of Trustees by resolution from time to time.

(3)

The position of lieutenant in the Police Department is eliminated effective at such time as the incumbents, as of June 22, 1993, no longer hold said position.
