§ 2-1323. Appointment and qualification of officers.

Unless otherwise provided by statute or ordinance, officers shall be appointed on or before the first Tuesday in May in the year in which the term of office expires or as soon thereafter as is convenient for the term provided for that office by ordinance or statute. No officer shall enter upon his duties until he has qualified by furnishing such bond as may be required, or equivalent proof of insurance, and by taking the oath of office.
