§ 2-915. Creation; composition; term; meetings.

  • (a)

    There is hereby established a Transportation Commission which shall consist of seven members, who shall be citizens and residents of the village. The seven members shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees for a term of four years.

    (b)

    At the expiration of the term of each member or of each succeeding member, or in the event of a vacancy, the President, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, shall appoint a member to hold office for the unexpired term, or in the case of expiration, for a term of four years, or until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. No member may serve for more than eight consecutive years.

    (c)

    The President shall designate one of the members as Chairperson of the Commission.

    (d)

    A member may be removed from office by the Village President for failure to attend four consecutive meetings. A vacancy so created shall be filled for the remaining portion of the member's unexpired term in the same manner as other vacancies.

    (e)

    The Transportation Commission shall meet as necessity requires and convenience allows.
