§ 6-220. Purpose.

The service and user fees imposed by this article and its further subsections below, are fees for services and benefits provided by the village to particular individuals or properties that are also obtainable, if desired, through private vendors or service providers, and are intended to defray a portion of the cost incurred by the village in providing such services. Such fees as may be provided for herein are imposed and shall be collected on fee for service basis, and shall not be interpreted as constituting taxes or otherwise be subject to the provisions of article XI of this chapter.
