§ 24-458. Requirements for a license.

  • A Group Home License shall not be issued unless the Community Development Department finds that the applicant meets the requirements set forth below, provided that if the applicant does not currently meet certain of these requirements, a Group Home License may nevertheless be issued conditioned upon the applicant meeting such requirements at a future date specified by the Community Development Department:

    (1)

    The applicant has obtained all licenses or approvals required by the State of Illinois for the operation of the proposed group home. A copy of all approvals must be submitted by the applicant.

    (2)

    The proposed group home meets the definition of "group home" as provided in appendix A of this Code (Wilmette Zoning Ordinance).

    (3)

    The number of residents proposed for the group home is consistent with other ordinances of the village. The maximum number of persons who may reside in a group home at any one time shall be as provided for in appendix A of this Code (Wilmette Zoning Ordinance).

    (4)

    The proposed group home meets the requirements of all other provisions of this Code, including, but not limited to, the Village's Building Codes, Property Maintenance Code, Fire Prevention Code and Life Safety Code.

    (5)

    The proposed group home satisfies the applicable regulations, if any, of the State and county.
