§ 24-457. Application, issuance and expiration of a license.

  • (a)

    Application. Application for a Group Home License shall be made to the Community Development Director in the manner prescribed in this chapter. Application for a renewal Group Home License shall be made at least 60 days prior to the expiration of the current Group Home License.

    (b)

    Issuance. An initial Group Home License shall be issued by the Community Development Department if it finds that the applicant satisfies the requirements of this article. The application for an initial Group Home License and renewal of the same, should such license not be suspended, revoked or surrendered, shall be approved or denied by the Community Development Department within a reasonable amount of time.

    (c)

    Expiration. An initial Group Home License and a renewal Group Home License shall expire at the end of one year from the date of issuance (which date shall be stated upon the face of the license) unless sooner suspended, revoked or surrendered.

    (d)

    Fee. The annual fee for a Group Home License shall be $100.00.

    (e)

    Form. A Group Home License shall be issued on a form prescribed by the Community Development Department. Such license shall set forth any conditions which the Community Development Department determines are necessary and appropriate to assure the licensee's compliance with the requirements set forth in this article, including but not limited to the maximum number of residents who may reside in the group home.

    (f)

    Transferability. A Group Home License shall not be transferrable, either as to the identity of the licensee or as to the facility covered by the license.
