Article XII. DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING AND PUBLIC WORKS |
§ 2-336. Duties.
The Director of Engineering and Public Works shall:
(1)
Have charge of the streets, which shall include:
a.
Maintenance of all public streets, alleys and sidewalks in the village;
b.
Maintenance of parkway trees and shrubbery in the village;
c.
Maintenance of all motor vehicle equipment owned by the village other than Fire Department vehicles;
d.
Collection and disposal of refuse, recycling materials, and yard waste by the village;
e.
Be responsible for the design and supervision of all public improvements and facilities in the village, and shall perform such duties as are prescribed for municipal engineers by statute or ordinance, including the duties of the Traffic Engineer.
(2)
Have charge of facilities, which shall include:
a.
Supervision and maintenance of the water distribution system for efficient operation;
b.
Supervision and maintenance of the sanitary and storm sewer systems of the village;
c.
Supervision and maintenance of the lighting of the public streets and alleys;
d.
Supervision of the custodial care of all public buildings and all the property of the village that is not assigned by the Code to the care of any other office or employee.
