§ 2-1128. Location of public meetings and departments.

  • (a)

    Whenever a local disaster makes it imprudent, unsafe or impracticable to conduct the affairs of the village at its regular locations, the Village Board, and subsidiary public bodies of the village, may meet at any place, inside or outside the village limits, in conformance with the requirements of the Illinois Open Meetings Act (ILCS ch. 5, act 120, § 1 et seq.). Any temporary disaster meeting location for the Village Board shall continue until a new location is established, until the disaster is declared ended or until the Village Board, or such subsidiary public body as the case may be, is able to return to its normal location.

    (b)

    Whenever a local disaster makes it imprudent, unsafe or impracticable to conduct the affairs of any department of the village at its regular location, such department may conduct its business at any place, inside or outside the village limits, and may remain at the temporary location until the disaster is declared ended or until the department is able to return to its normal location.

    (c)

    Any official act or meeting required to be performed at any regular location of the governing body or of its departments shall be valid when performed at any temporary location established under this section.
