§ 2-440. Office created; appointment.

There is hereby created the office of Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Village Manager for an indefinite period. The Fire Chief need not be appointed from the members of the Fire Department, and if appointed from among the members of the Fire Department, the appointment need not be from the rank next below the Fire Chief, but may be from among the members of the Fire Department regardless of rank.
