§ 2-442. Vacancy in office.

In case of the death, removal from the village, resignation, incapacity or inability of the Fire Chief, the vacancy thus or otherwise created shall be filled by the Village Manager. If there is a vacancy in the office of Fire Chief, the Village Manager may designate a member of the Fire Department as Acting Fire Chief until a Fire Chief is appointed. The Fire Chief may be discharged at any time by the Village Manager.
