§ 8-106. Building permit fees.

(a)

The fees for building and construction permits shall be as follows:

(1)

Plan examination fees for buildings and structures.

a.

A non-refundable plan examination fee in the amounts stated below shall be paid prior to any review of building or construction plans.

b.

In addition to the fees set forth in the schedule below, the applicant and/or property owner shall be responsible for the payment of all costs relating to the review of permit applications and plans by any outside consultant or entity selected by the village for this purpose. These costs shall be paid to the village by the applicant and/or property owner prior to issuance of any permit and, shall be paid regardless of whether the permit application is withdrawn.

(2)

Building plan examination.

a.

New construction single-family structures: $202.00.

b.

New construction to all other structures not single-family: $321.00.

c.

Additions to single-family structures: $118.00.

d.

Remodeling of single-family structures: $79.00.

e.

Additions/remodeling to all other structures not single-family: $202.00.

f.

Detached garages: $79.00.

Fire safety regulations plan examination.

a.

Multifamily/Commercial structures: $169.00 plus costs.

b.

Single-family structures: $109.00 plus costs.

(4)

Engineering and Public Works/Grading Plan examination.

a.

All structures: $235.00 plus costs.

b.

Other projects: $120.00 plus costs.

Building permit deposit. Prior to any review of building or construction plans, the applicant shall also be required to submit a Building Permit deposit. Said deposit will be deducted, at the time of permit issuance, from the total amount of Building Permit fee due under subsection (a)(5)c of this section. The amount of Building Permit deposit to be provided shall be as follows:

a.

Single-family residential:

1.

New construction: $900.00.

2.

Additions: $591.00.

3.

Detached garages and remodeling: $118.00.

b.

All other buildings and structures:

1.

New construction: $1,182.00.

2.

Additions: $591.00.

3.

Remodeling: $236.00.

c.

The Building Permit deposit shall be forfeited, and no amount shall be refunded, under either of the following circumstances:

1.

Expiration of the permit application under section 8-110(g).

2.

Withdrawal of the permit application after completion of plan examination.

Building permit fees. For all construction, $20.16 per $1,000.00 valuation.

(7)

Transportation and inspectional services.

a.

For new construction of all buildings and structures, except detached garages: $587.00 (based upon a minimum of 15 inspections).

b.

For remodeling and additions to existing buildings and structures: $391.00 (based upon a minimum of ten inspections).

c.

For new or replacement detached garages: $79.00.

d.

Engineering/Grading and Drainage: $117.00 (based upon three inspections).

e.

For all additional inspections required, or for any re-inspections required as result of work not performed in accordance with approved plans and/or code compliance: $39.00 each.

Demolition and removal.

a.

Demolition of buildings: $4,500.00.

b.

Demolition of accessory structures: $39.00.

c.

Removal of underground storage tanks: $39.00.

(b)

Whenever construction work has commenced prior to an application for a Building Permit, or any other permit required pursuant to this Code, being submitted or before said permit is issued, an additional charge shall be added to the foregoing permit fee in the amount of $153.00 or 50 percent of the ordinary Building Permit fee, whichever is greater.
