§ 8-108. Building permit required for satellite dish installations.
(a)
It is unlawful to erect or construct a satellite dish as defined in appendix A, section 30-6.4.12 of this Code, the Wilmette Zoning Ordinance without first obtaining a permit therefor issued by the Director of Community Development. No permit shall be issued unless the proposed installation is in compliance with the provisions of section 30-6.4.12 of the Zoning Ordinance, appendix A of this Code, and all other applicable village regulations and codes, including, but not limited to, the Electrical Code. Further, no permit shall be issued unless a certificate from a registered structural engineer is obtained which states that the proposed satellite dish installation can withstand wind loads of 95 miles per hour. No permit described in this section shall be required to install a receive-only satellite dish of no more than two meters in diameter which qualifies as a permitted use under appendix A.
(b)
There shall be no fee for the foregoing permit.
