§ 8-242. Hazards.

  • (a)

    Contractor shall be solely responsible for the determinations and implementation of the means and methods of construction, as well as compliance with all applicable work place safety rules, regulations, or guidelines.

    (b)

    Notwithstanding any permitting under this section, whenever the Village Engineer determines that any existing excavation, embankment, fill, or land contour on private property is a health hazard or adversely affects the safety, use or stability of a public way or drainage channel, the owner of said property shall, upon receipt of written notice from the Village Engineer and within the period specified therein, abate or eliminate any such hazard as requested by the Village Engineer.

    (c)

    As set forth in section 8-413, the village shall have the right to abate any hazard related to the activities regulated by this article and further subsections herein.
