§ 8-661. Fences in disrepair.

Latest version.
  • Fences in disrepair, because of their proximity to property lines, have a special potential for being safety hazards and for adversely affecting property values in the neighborhood. Accordingly, the village has an interest in requiring that fences be kept in good repair. The term "fence in disrepair" means a fence:

    (1)

Which has totally or partially collapsed so that it no longer stands in a substantially vertical plane; or

    (2)

Which has, to a material extent, missing or loose supports, slats, sections, pickets or other components.
