The purpose of this article, appendix 9B, is to further protect existing and future
residential properties from the adverse impact of noise generated by the traffic on
the Edens Expressway (Interstate Highway 94), which is the only limited-access expressway
in the village. This article, appendix 9B, identifies the geographic boundaries of
an Edens Expressway Noise Impact Area, wherein noise from the Edens Expressway adversely
impacts the quality of life in residential structures near the Edens Expressway, and
prescribes construction standards for that portion of the village which is uniquely
and adversely impacted by this noise. This article, appendix 9B, also sets forth the
procedures for the implementation and enforcement of sound transmission control construction
requirements.
