§ 22-58. Authority to grant franchise.

(a)

In pursuance of the public health, safety and welfare, and to better enable the village to regulate and control the services provided to the users of solid waste services, the village may provide for a franchise for the collection and disposal of solid waste for commercial, industrial, institutional and multifamily users by procurement of one or more contracts with qualified contractors.

(b)

Such franchise may be granted by resolution adopted by the Village Board.
