§ 6-104. Prior approval required.

  • (a)

    The following bills shall not be paid without prior approval by the Board of Trustees unless otherwise directed by the Board of Trustees:

    (1)

    Bills which have been submitted pursuant to contract approved by the Board of Trustees under section 6-130 or by the Village Manager under section 6-129, and which, if paid, would cause the total amount paid under the contract to exceed the contract amount; and

    (2)

    Bills which, if paid, would cause the total amount expended within a category of the applicable appropriation ordinance to exceed the amount authorized for such category.

    (b)

    Any bill for which prior approval is required by the Board of Trustees shall first be reviewed by the standing committee of the Board having jurisdiction over the subject matter of the bill. If no standing committee clearly has jurisdiction, the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee.
